What do you get with 10 red balloons, 4,665 friends, and $40,000?
Sounds like the setup for a joke, right? ;)
Answer: A trust-vulnerability loop.
I recently read this great story about a contest called The Red Balloon Challenge that demonstrates an amazing concept by Daniel Coyle, author of The Culture Code.
Coyle says that great cultures are built on three things:
- Common purpose
- Vulnerability
- Trust
Makes sense, right?
What might surprise you is that Coyle found in his research that vulnerability has to precede trust, not the other way around.
More here on why that's true, and the full Red Balloon story.
