I have hard news for you.

It's been my experience that when I meet with and listen to business owners and their leadership teams, the owner's perspective is—sometimes slightly and other times DRASTICALLY—different than the reality of the business. 

Their distorted perspective is either...

1. The business is BETTER than it really is
2. The business is WORSE than it really is

(By the way—I'm with you in this struggle. It's just hard to be a good judge of something you're really close to.)

Two ways to fight this... 

1. Figure out your bent. Are you a half-full or half-empty kind of person?
2. Invite trusted, inharmonious voices into your perspective to create balance.

Two questions for you... 

1. Are you aware?
2. Who is helping you stay that way?
