I'm going to guess you've said this... I know I have.
"It's as simple as X."
At a glance, a new endeavor can be boiled down to a 1, 2, 3 plan.
But the farther we go, the more complex the thing that was "as simple as X" becomes.
1,000 hurdles emerge. Deadlines drag out. Costs increase. More resources are needed.
It's frustrating. And it's a trap a lot of us visionary-types step into.
Reminder: There is more value in elegant simplicity than premature simplicity.
Elegant simplicity requires necessary complexity to gain clarity, form, and exist without friction.
Nothing in the world is worth having or worth doing unless it means effort, pain, difficulty... I have never in my life envied a human being who led an easy life. —Theodore Roosevelt.
